The morning I captured this image at Surfers Paradise beach, the light throughout my photo shoot was exceptional from beginning to end.
From the moment I stepped onto the beach, I instinctively knew the light was going to be incredible. From experience, I have learnt to read the clouds and the sky, at first light. The beach was quiet as it normally is at that time of the morning.
There were the occasional shoreline walkers, but it was heading towards the cooler months where the days were beginning to shorten, and the temperature was a little cooler. As you can imagine it was a busy time with the clouds making an impression, with a beautiful blend of colours that made my photo shoot more exciting.
As you can see, the reflections are lovely too. The ocean was calm, whilst the tide was coming in, offering perfect reflections. I reduced my tripod legs to maximise the effect of the reflections.
I packed away my equipment with a spring in my step as it was a memorable photo shoot.
