Sun Seeker

Join me in experiencing my adventures and excitement on my photo shoots, as I unwrap my journey involved in capturing images that linger, whilst reflecting spectacular scenery that soak the soul with peace and hope!

This is an incredible location. I arrived early at Cabarita Beach that morning, which is advisable as it’s a popular surf destination. The surfers arrive at dawn before heading off to school and work. The winter swells are impressive at Cabarita beach. It’s a long drive from home, but it’s worth it!

The weather conditions were perfect that morning. The temperature was a reminder that winter was fast approaching. It was crisp and clear, with a light breeze. With the onset of winter, I was warmly dressed, with layers of my clothing tucked under my waders!

As I walked onto the beach, which is a short distance from the car park, the light was starting to form a thin line across the horizon. My timing was perfect!

It did not take me long to find the right spot to secure my tripod in the sand, on the shoreline. The ocean was calm, particularly unusual for Cabarita beach. I was grateful for that. Big waves are stimulating, as they require intense concentration.

The headland makes an interesting feature. This image was captured during the early stages of my shoot. You can tell, by the colours of the sky and the ocean.

Throughout my photo shoot, I moved my tripod and adjusted its height to maximise the light and to add interest with varying compositions. Even though the waves were small, Cabarita beach has a strong back wash, which I’m always mindful of.

From start to finish, it was a memorable photo shoot. I drove home content as I knew I’d captured some special shots.
