Sail Away

Join me in experiencing my adventures and excitement on my photo shoots, as I unwrap my journey involved in capturing images that linger, whilst reflecting spectacular scenery that soak the soul with peace and hope!

It had been a while since visiting this incredible location, Manly Yachts, Brisbane, Australia. And so, it was good to be back.

During my time of learning new photographic techniques with professional cameras, this wonderful spot was a great place to train myself in advancing in the art form of photography. It was here that I discovered the intriguing techniques regarding shadows and light.

As you can imagine, sunrise is a pivotal moment, with contrasting shadows from the yachts, and to continually improve my technique, I was drawn to visiting the yachts regularly. It was particularly the case when I invested in photographic filters.

Filters improve the quality of the image. They can add interest to cloud formations, depending on the strength of the wind, as well as smoothing water, as with the ocean.

Humanity is mostly predictable, wherever we go. As I was a regular visitor, especially as the location was close to home, I would see the same people do the same thing almost at the same time each morning. We are creatures of habit, aren’t we? It was wonderful to share the sunrises with wonderful, warm, and friendly people passing by and breaking out into conversation.

The sunrise bled across the horizon on this morning. The sky, although cloudy, added interesting dynamics. The mood was calm, with an intriguing blend of warmth and coolness. I packed away my photographic equipment with a spring in my step. It was a memorable photo shoot.
