Rest

Join me in experiencing my adventures and excitement on my photo shoots, as I unwrap my journey involved in capturing images that linger, whilst reflecting spectacular scenery that soak the soul with peace and hope!

The sunrise at Cabarita Beach, New South Wales, Australia, was exceptional right from the start. I arrived at the car park at a good time, enabling me to prepare my equipment for my photo shoot. This is a wonderfully versatile beach. It is also a popular surfers beach and a dog beach.

When I walked onto the beach that morning, first light was starting to bleed light on the horizon. It was a wonderful sight to behold. The tide was at the point of receding. I always prepare myself before a photo shoot in knowing what the tide is doing.

Knowledge of the weather beforehand is also an advantage. The conditions were perfect. The sunrise improved as the light became more obvious. I was able to secure my tripod in the sand, whilst it was quite low to the water, capturing the reflections, in optimising their beauty.

Because the tide and the ocean were in harmony, and the conditions were calm, the light and the reflections were perfect, for quite some time. There was a combined intensity from the sun, yet it was perfectly blended with the calm colours of pink and blue that subdue the scene.

Cabarita beach is one of my favourite beaches. The dog walkers are friendly, and the light is always superb there. This photo shoot was particularly good, from start to finish. When I packed away my equipment, I knew I had some special shots. I walked away from the beach with a spring in my step.
