Ponder

Join me in experiencing my adventures and excitement on my photo shoots, as I unwrap my journey involved in capturing images that linger, whilst reflecting spectacular scenery that soak the soul with peace and hope!

My drive to this destination was good. I could hear the roar of the ocean smashing against the concrete sea wall when I arrived. I knew I was going to be in for an eventful time.

It is always a thrill visiting this iconic location. I hadn’t visited it for awhile. I planned my trip in advance, as always, Checking the weather conditions would be suitable for a photo shoot. And they were.

My photographic equipment is always packed in my car. I’m ready at a moment’s notice to drive to photo shoots. Depending on my choice of location, as to whether I put on my waders at home or whether I put them on when I arrive at my shoot location.

As I am a mature woman, I do not favour dressing or preparing myself for my shoot if the location is lacking in good light. It is a precaution which I have learnt over the years.

When the surfers enter the ocean, I make my way to the rocks. I shoot from the rock shelf mostly at high tide.

I observe the ocean when the waves are big. Timing of my shots of the waves as they make contact with the rocks is important. This involves undivided concentration.

The mood of the ocean changed as the tide became full. It was not as aggressive. The waves became subdued. The water cascaded over the rocks with ease. It was relaxing witnessing the transformation of the waves being reduced in height and activity.

I captured this image early during my shoot. The timing was perfect.
