This lovely location is close to home. I have spent many hours doing photo shoots from either side of the jetty. Both sides are equally as favourable as the other. It depends on where the sun is rising.
The tide was coming in during this photo shoot. When the water is deeper, it naturally increases the impact of the reflections. It took a little while for the light to do something, but it was worth waiting for.
I’m very slow to pack my equipment as so often I have noticed the light improving right at the last moment. If you walk away too quickly, you could miss out on something special.
Wearing waders is an advantage. I wade to a depth that is comfortable and where the light is more favourable. Wellington Point is an iconic location for cyclists, walkers, joggers and fishermen, and of course photographers!
