Surrender

Join me in experiencing my adventures and excitement on my photo shoots, as I unwrap my journey involved in capturing images that linger, whilst reflecting spectacular scenery that soak the soul with peace and hope!

Currumbin Beach, Gold Coast, Australia, is an exciting beach to do photo shoots from. I don’t think I have every shot from this wonderful location without being kept on my toes. It is an ideal beach to capture big waves when the tide is either coming in or is about to recede.

There have been photo shoots where I have been surrounded by big waves and impressive sea spray. It’s incredibly exciting. But I know the importance of keeping myself aware of potential dangers regarding slipping on the generous rock shelf or my equipment being soaked in sea spray.

Wearing waders is always an advantage. But they can be potentially lethal due to their slippery rubber soles. I wear men’s waders as they enable me to wear more clothing in the winter, whereas with women’s waders I’d be restricted with my winter clothing.

On the morning of this photo shoot, the conditions were perfect. There was an absence of wind, which makes it ideal for shots such as this one. The tide was great for capturing this scene, where the water was overflowing the crevices.

It’s in moments such as this that you have an appreciation of the strength of Mother Nature, and yet, at the same time, you can savour the moment with a touch of gentleness from her.

As I packed away my photographic equipment, I was tired, yet exhilarated at the same time, as the conditions were sublime.
