Serenade

Join me in experiencing my adventures and excitement on my photo shoots, as I unwrap my journey involved in capturing images that linger, whilst reflecting spectacular scenery that soak the soul with peace and hope!

From the moment I stepped onto the beach, at Surfers Paradise, that morning, I knew instinctively that it was going to be an incredible sunrise. I could tell by the arrangement of the cloud formation.

At first light, as the red line bled across the horizon. I secured my tripod on the shoreline and started shooting. The ocean was calm. The conditions were perfect. When the light improved, I had an appreciation of the incredible display of clouds that were being pierced by the sunlight. It was a magnificent sight.

As you can imagine, it was a busy time. I changed the position of my tripod often. My camera was repositioned regularly too. On photo shoots with extraordinary light, it is important to move from one second to the next, knowing where you are going with the light as you frame it in a composition.

Sometimes the light can last a long time, whilst on other occasions, it can fade as quickly as it appears. I always anticipate the next step, reading the light to know and recognise in advance what it is going to do. That is capturing the mood and essence of the moment.

When the light matured beyond capturing it effectively, I packed away my equipment on a high note. It was a sunrise to remember.
