Location: Wanaka, South Island, New Zealand
As I stepped outside my home into the early morning, I immediately noticed the spectacular cloud formation as first light formed a distinct outline of this impressive cloud that stretched across the morning sky.
My photographic gear is always ready at hand. I knew my photoshoot destination which is conveniently located. It was going to be the best spot to capture the most incredible length and width of cloud I have ever seen.
Wearing my waders, I quickly made my way into Lake Wanaka and immediately started clicking my camera button. Time cannot be wasted with such intense light as it usually fades fairly quickly.
Timing is paramount, I was fortunate enough to have got it right that morning. The bonus was the light that burst forth in and through the cloud was fairly consistent for a considerable time.
Landscape photography is forever evolving as the seasons change. Clicking my camera button, whilst standing in the lake with a depth of colour reflecting in the water, always stirs a hunger in me to pursue the pinnacle of photography.
It is this that stimulates me to consistently be creative in capturing landscapes that are organic drawing the individual to reflect on what is important to them. Holding memories in the palm of my hand, using my shutter release. That is what is important to me, you!
