Jewel in the Crown!

It was a freezing cold morning whenI arrived at Roaring Meg, Crown Range, on the peripheral of Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand.

Due to the lean temperature I was layered with warm clothing which proved effective in the biting wind.

I walked up the mountain to capture this image of Queenstown, sometimes referred to as a ‘jewel in the crown’, using a telephoto lens.

The photo shoot was amazing despite the frosty conditions. My camera was ready as the light made an appearance.

In the cold conditions, the light is so good, it is crisp and everything comes to life, so to speak.

There is a warmth contrasted with the coolness. The fertile valley below is beautiful.

If you look closely you can see the runway at Queenstown Airport.

Sometimes we need to go the extra mile to make our dream become a reality, don’t we? But it worth it!

Thank you for appreciating my work!
