Mt Aspiring National park, South Island, New Zealand was one of my favourite ‘playgrounds’ when I lived in Wanaka, New Zealand.
It was a last minute decision to drive to this destination.
I arrived at first light for my photo shoot, whilst the sun was just starting to appear behind the mountains. My timing was perfect.
As you can see, the river was swollen whilst the current was very strong.
I made my way across the extensive sand bar, when soft, it can be treachorous.
Standing alongside the river enabled me to capture the ‘angle’ of this image.
I started clicking may camera button immediately as I secured my tripod in the river sand.
