Join me in experiencing my adventures and excitement on my photo shoots, as I unwrap my journey involved in capturing images that linger, whilst reflecting spectacular scenery that soak the soul with peace and hope!
This wonderful location, Many Yachts, Brisbane, Australia, holds a very special place in my heart as it was where I first learnt to use my professional camera. It is a ‘tricky’ location. It’s east facing, which is great, the important thing is to capture the yachts when there is an absence of shadows.
Of course, that depends on the ‘mood’ of the photo shoot. Clouds create a special mood which attract attention. And this location has taught me so much about balancing light (sunrise) with shadows (the yachts).
In the past I have been fortunate in capturing the yachts in superb light, with dramatic clouds on the horizon. I have done photo shoots at sunrise and at sunset, which are equally as interesting. And the reflections, in calm conditions are inspirational.
Manly Yachts attracts, not only a plethora of boats, but also an interesting mix of people. It is a fantastic location with very friendly people. On the morning of capturing this image, I sat on a concrete wall, as I always do, the light took some time to ‘mature’, but it was worth the wait as it exploded before me!
At the end of my photo shoot, I packed away my equipment, knowing I had captured something special.
