Dare to Dream

Join me in experiencing my adventures and excitement on my photo shoots, as I unwrap my journey involved in capturing images that linger, whilst reflecting spectacular scenery that soak the soul with peace and hope!

I will remember this photo shoot for a long time. I drove from Queenstown early in the morning. The weather conditions were perfect.

The road between Queenstown and Glenorchy is scenic. The road ribbons along Lake Wakatipu. The scenery is spectacular. I am familiar with this route. I have travelled along it on several occasions.

During the early hours of the morning, rabbits frequent the road. I was aware of that. The road literally hugs Lake Wakatipu, whilst in other areas, you travel through lush countryside.

It was my intention to arrive before dawn for my first photo shoot at Glenorchy as it is a popular location for photographers. The jetty at Glenorchy is iconic. The view of the mountain range from there is indescribable.

When I walked on the jetty, the weather conditions were calm. I noticed, even in the dark, there was ice on the upper regions of the mountains behind me. It was wonderful to witness that as even a hint of snow or ice adds interest.

The temperature was invigorating and crisp to say the least. I engaged in conversation with a local who was walking his dog. Afterwards, I started shooting.

Listening to the solitary rooster crowing was wonderful. The sounds of silence were almost deafening. Having been acquainted to the cacophony in a city. Slowly but surely, the light was leaking across the eastern sky.

It was a soothing sight. And calming to my soul. My desire was to capture the jetty as it represents something special. As the light reflected across the water, the world was awakening.
