It is just as well I always have my umbrella tucked into my waders bib. I most certainly needed it the morning of this photo shoot.
When I first arrived at this wonderful location, the weather almost looked predictable. But I have learnt my lesson from a rare occasion of thinking I didn’t need my umbrella. And it rained. Of course, that was the end of my photo shoot. Some of which, were good. But interrupted by rain.
During my time as a landscape photographer, I have learnt to shoot in unpredictable weather conditions. It strengthens my ability to become more versatile as a photographer. I have learnt to shoot during windy and rainy conditions. Sometimes, they have been the most memorable moments.
After a great start to this photo shoot, I immediately noticed the weather conditions were changing. The big clouds that were once on the horizon steadily made their way across the sky towards me. I was prepared. My umbrella was ready when I noticed the first rain drops. It was during that time that I captured this image.
Nothing is every wasted. A lesson well learned. So now my umbrella accompanies me on almost every photo shoot. With the exception of a ‘guaranteed’ cloudless sky. It was a photo shoot to remember. I walked away with a spring in my step.
