Join me in experiencing my adventures and excitement on my photo shoots, as I unwrap my journey involved in capturing images that linger, whilst reflecting spectacular scenery that soak the soul with peace and hope!
Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast, Australia, is a spectacular location. It boasts great weather, even during the winter months, it is mild, attracts tourists from around the world, and of course the beach and accommodation are exceptionally good.
On the morning of this photo shoot, I arrived on the beach nice and early, which is always beneficial. I like to be settled into my shoot before the light contacts the horizon. I instinctively knew this sunrise was going to be a stunning experience. I was not disappointed.
The reflections from the clouds, particularly as the tide was receding, were spectacular. A photographer needs to work quickly as the ‘performance’ or endurance of the light is naturally unpredictable, which sharpens a photographer’s skills.
The use of photographic filters and wearing waders is beneficial. Photographic filters add interest to the water and the clouds. And I’m not talking about Photoshopping either. Depending on the size of the surf, my photographic filters are always at the ready to change quickly to the next filter, which is influenced by the light conditions.
It was a busy photo shoot with a lot of activity in creating sharp compositions, making for more interesting shots. The important ingredient, as photography is an art form, is to draw an individual into the scene of the image. Evoking their emotions. I capture every image from my soul, as an artist paints from their soul.
At the end of my photo shoot, I walked away with a sense of excitement as I knew I’d captured the essence of the moment during that photo shoot.
