Arresting

Join me in experiencing my adventures and excitement on my photo shoots, as I unwrap my journey involved in capturing images that linger, whilst reflecting spectacular scenery that soak the soul with peace and hope!

This day will stand out in my memory regarding a feast for my eyes. Lake Pukaki, South Island, New Zealand is one of my favourite lakes.

As it is a glacial lake, the colour is striking, in any mood, which is influenced by clouds or clear skies. It was a perfect day in every way. When I arrived at this wonderful destination, I had been shooting for several hours.

Although I was needing a rest, I was invigorated when I saw the colour of the lake and the wonderful trees almost embracing the water nearby. It was the first time I had walked this way, so it was particularly exciting.

Making my way from the car park, trailing up a gentle hill, as I reached the top, I was ‘rewarded’ with this magnificent view. It was almost breath-taking. I took time to drink in and absorb the out-of-this-world beauty before me.

Of course, I hadn’t reached my destination which was to walk to the shoreline of the lake. It was tantalising close which was a relief. Walking through the trees was a welcome relief as the sun was hot, and there was an absence of a breeze. I’m not complaining as I thought of the ideal conditions that day.

When I reached the shoreline of the lake, the sun had matured too much to experience quality shots. I was not disappointed.

After a lengthy rest and a photo shoot, I climbed up the hill and experienced and appreciated the wonderful scent of the trees. As I was about to exit the trees, I spotted this window of opportunity to capture something special, which influenced my adding this image to my online Gallery.

When I arrived at my vehicle and packed away my photographic equipment, I realised what an incredible day it had been.
