Location: Lake Wanaka, Wanaka, Otago, South Island, New Zealand
‘That Wanaka Tree’ was devoid of photographers the morning I captured the tree. As I was appreciating capturing the tree by being on my own, I decided to see how close I could walk towards it, without fully adjusting my focal length.
Naturally I was restricted by the height of my tripod. As I advanced towards the tree, it necessitated my increasing my tripod legs. Suddenly I realised it was time to be content as to how close I was to the tree due to the depth of the water.
I appreciated wearing my waders that morning more than ever before. Even at that depth, the rounded stones were clearly visible.
