Location: Glendhu Bay, Wanaka, South Island, New Zealand
The light in the clouds intrigued me when I was at home. I decided to drive to Lake Wanaka, heading out towards Glendhu Bay, which is an approximate 15-minute drive. When I arrived at the lake, the intensity of the blue reflections across the water was unforgettable.
As a landscape photographer I was instantly excited. My waders were on and I was prepared, all photographic equipment was ready, camera on my tripod so I waded into the lake. All I needed to do was to click my camera button. I wasted no time in doing that!
The mirror image reflection is a result of an absence of a breeze. The weather conditions were perfect and the mountains so clear. I like this area of Lake Wanaka as it is less populated.
It’s a popular location for people with boats. During the autumn months the Poplar trees are a sight to behold. Photographing in quiet conditions such as this, is therapeutic.
